In our Irbid dialect, people used to say when visiting a doctor:
“I went to the Hakim, he treated me, and I returned home.”
Back then, doctors were simply called Hakim—a wise healer.
The Jordanian Ministry of Health even named its digital platform “Hakim” to provide electronic health services for patients and doctors under its healthcare digitalization program.
So when Dr. Mohammad Khaled Al-Buqai, the scientist and researcher, named his center “Al-Buqai World for Natural Therapy” (Al-‘Ilaj Al-Hakmi in Arabic), it was not random—it was a deliberate choice, emphasizing both wisdom and healing.
Um Hakim traveled 2,715 km—the distance from Oman, where she lives, to Irbid, where she found hope and healing at Al-Buqai World.
She was suffering from neuromuscular tendon dysfunction, knee friction, and neck and back problems, as diagnosed by Dr. Al-Buqai in her first evaluation session.
Her pain was relentless… cruel… unbearable…
Not the fleeting pain of a tooth that ends with extraction, nor a passing stomachache, nor even a broken bone that heals in weeks.
It was a stiff neck, frozen like plaster…
It was bone friction in the knees…
It was a neuromuscular tendon disorder—
A complex, stubborn condition. One worth traveling that great distance to treat.
Through tears of joy, she said:
“I spent two months and twelve days here, and I am now completely healed—first by the grace of God Almighty, and then by the hands of the Body Engineer, Dr. Mohammad Al-Buqai.”
She added:
“In Jordan, you have a priceless jewel called Mohammad Khaled Al-Buqai. I call on decision-makers in Jordan to support him in every way, so that his giving and joy can continue.”
Many families of patients from around the world who have recovered at his hands have wished for the Jordanian government to establish an Academy of Body Engineering and Manual Therapy—to treat people and promote medical tourism, which would bring great revenue to the country.
Dr. Mohammad Khaled Al-Buqai, the scientist and researcher, did not achieve these milestones by chance, but through perseverance, effort, and dedication.
As the proverb says: “Ask someone with experience, not a doctor.”
But what if you could ask both—embodied in one person?
