A wrong intramuscular injection caused the child Baraa Shaqfa to completely lose movement in both the sensory and motor nerves.

This led to a drop in his right foot, as he could no longer feel it, and he became unable to walk or even stand on it.

“We took him to a number of hospitals and physical and physiotherapy centers in search of a glimmer of hope here or there, but our search went in vain,” Baraa’s father said in a recorded audio-visual statement.
